Free Childcare for Two-Year-Olds....
Families who are unemployed or on a low income may be eligible for free childcare for two-year-olds.
|The childcare funding covers 15 hours a week, 38 weeks of the year. The 15 hours can be used flexibly which means a child can attend a three hour session five days a week of or a five hour session three days a week. When children turn three their place will then be funded through the three and four-year-old free childcare entitlement.
The funding scheme is intended to enable parents with young children to access good quality childcare they might otherwise not be able to afford. Families may be eligible for the two-year-old free childcare place if they receive ONE of the following:
Job Seekers Allowance,
Child Tax Credit at a rate higher than £545 a year,
The disability element of Working Tax Credit,
Financial Support from the National Asylum Support Service,
A Lone Parent,
A Young Parent.
Dealing with difficult issues in your family such as an addiction, serious health issues, or a disability.
Eligibility will be decided by a panel of Early Years professionals which meets each month.
